Sponsoring Local Volunteers for International Projects
Last summer Gerard Mc Guinness travelled to a small village located in Uganda called Nakasongola. Gerard travelled along with a group of volunteers from the New Beginnings Charitable Foundation located in Kilkeel. There are an estimated 2.3 million orphaned children in Uganda through a number of different factors such as abonnement, war and domestic violence victims.
This Charitable foundation New Beginnings was set up in order to help orphaned and vulnerable children in Uganda. Creating a self-sustainable community environment where the children can grow up cared for through housing, medical review, construction of a school and much more. New Beginnings currently has over 150 children in their village and over time this number will hopefully increase.
In order to give back not just to the local community but also the international one, Patrick F O’Reilly Ltd sponsored Gerard to help him with his efforts, providing him with the painting tools needed to paint and decorate the local school in Nakasongola.
From the images you can see that even though the group were only at the village for 2 weeks, the difference they made was incredible.
